Garbage Pail Kids

In the 80's, sticker collecting was huge.

(Actually it still is, nearly everyone I know collected the World Cup Stickers last month, and they are all in their 30s!)

Long before South Park or Beavis and Butthead entertained children, you had the Garbage Pail Kids, which were basically a piss take of the Cabbage Patch kids.

Bedroom doors and lunchboxes eveywhere would be covered in these, and they were basically little characters with a sick twist.

For example, one might have been named Peter Pimple Popper (or something like that) and the card would show a Cabbage Patch Kid look-a-like with pimples all over his face and pus on his fingers.

As gross as this sounds, they were funny. They'd be traded in the playground by girls with bicycle shorts under their skirts, hypercolour T-shirts and LA Gear trainers.

There was actually a film made in 1987 - never saw it but it looks like complete crap. Cabbage patch kids actually sued Garbage Pail Kids for Infringement, and not long after that they sort of dissappeared...... which was no bad thing....... though at the time they did seem pretty cool!
